Used VOX Apollo Cherry Red Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Hard Case

These early Vox guitars were produced between 1961 and 1967 by Jennings Musical Industries (JMI) in the UK. Beginning in 1965, Italian manufacturer EKO was brought in to help meet the enormous demand coming from the U.S. market, continuing production through 1969. This particular example is in very good condition, retaining its striking Cherry Red finish with only light, honest wear.

It features a bound rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays mounted on a super-slim five-piece maple neck, making it exceptionally comfortable to play. The guitar sports the large, iconic “VOX” logo and a distinctive padded back panel that conceals the electronics. A single-coil pickup delivers a uniquely bright, punchy voice, while the groovy white pickguard completes the classic look.

All Vox Apollo guitars were equipped with active electronics powered by a 9-volt battery, offering onboard Distortion (“Dance to the Music”), Treble and Bass Boost (“Happy Jack”), and a 440 Hz LC-controlled “E-Tuner” circuit that crossfades through the volume control alongside the distortion and active boost functions.

Includes the original shaped hard case.
